Where do you put Google Adsense on a website, really?

Good day all!

I have read so many different articles and posts about Google AdSense placement and where to put them on a website. The question is which one is right, and which one is wrong?

I have tried several different ways placing adds on my website, and have seen no change in click through rate, or CTR.

I have tried:

1. Top in left column
2. Top of page with link unit
3. Top left with Google search
4. Top middle placed within content
5. Top middle placed under a image
6. Also placing a add at the bottom of the page

I also make sure to blend my colors to match my website. Nothing seems to work. I have also learned about the popular heat map. So I know how the average visitor views a website, which is also how most read through a search while searching Google, or any search engine.

If you have not seen the heat map, I will explain:

The heat map study simply shows how most people look at a web page. If you put a big F on your website that would show you how your visitors are viewing your pages. It goes like this.

The first thing people look at is the top left, top middle, and left column. Most never explore the right side of a website, or scroll to far down to the middle of a page. That is why I'm guessing it is so important to find ways to get your visitors attention right away. The average visitor leaves a website in just seconds.

So what I would like to ask the big top dogs of AdSense riches is how do you really make money with Google AdSense and where do you put adds?

1. What type and size of AdSense is the best to use? Link or Banner?
2. Is it a good idea to use a Google search?
3. Is it true if you place AdSense around or under a image people click more?
4. How many adds should you place on a single page? One, two, or three?
5. How many adds are to many on a single page?

I know the more content and pages you have on a website the better it will do. Is it really all about placement, or is it more about the topic of a website, or do you pick topics that will give adds with high payouts?

I know traffic is the biggest key in possibly getting a high CTR. But getting traffic is a whole new topic for me. That will be my next question, How do you get traffic, and get it quickly?

Anyhow, I found a place that as a huge list of the top selling legal keywords. Check it out and maybe get some ideas on your next AdSense website. Go there: Top Paying Keywords!

I came across John Chow's list of the highest paid Google websites, you got to check it out! If you need motivation, ideas, or inspiration you got to see this.

Well, I should go for now. Time to go play with the only thing good in my life right now, my kids!

Another day goes by without riches

Well, since yesterday I have already played with my kids, watched a movie, made breakfast, and searched and thought of new ways to make money. I'm already going bonkers this morning wondering why I didn't think of www.plentyoffish.com.

I do have a idea I'm currently working on that is related to furniture. Which I'm hoping it will be a hit! I'm crossing my fingers. My husband and I have been talking with a top dog I will not mention any names, that gave us the 411 on word press. Duh.. I can't believe we never knew about this. So much easier to design a site, get traffic, and update a website. I will gladly say good bye to html, and hello CSS.

I tried EBay auctions for a few years, and I love doing it. But to this day I still have not figured out how to get that power seller status. I have searched for products, good drop shippers and they all suck. I never got any further then selling stuff out of my basement, kids rooms, and closets. But I guess now when I think about the EBay thing, that it's not how I want to make my riches. I don't want to do anything that is that involved.

Google AdSense and affiliate programs seem to be the best way to create wealth these days. At least I think so. But, again how?

I also tried a errand service in my local area. Boy was that a joke. I think I got two calls. Then I realized my town is not big enough for that kind of service. So I researched all kinds of service ideas. I tried a couple and of course they didn't work. But hey I'm going to give you my list of ideas anyway. Maybe someone else could benefit from one. So here they are:

10 businesses you can start at home

#1. Bookkeeping For Small Biz:
You can start a business offering bookkeeping and accounting services to small business owners who don't have the time or the inclination to set this type of system up for themselves.

#2. Errand Service:
Charge by the hour to perform a variety of errands for your clients. you could market your services to moms, single parents, grandparents, seniors, etc.

#3. Party Planner:
If you enjoy people and parties, then this could be a great business for you to start. You get to throw great parties while spending other people's money!

#4. Pet Sitting:
Do you love animals? There are plenty of people out there that don't want to leave their pets alone during the day. Or, they may be somebody who travels a great deal, and would prefer not to leave their pet in a kennel.

#5. Handyman:
If your handy around the house, why not get paid for it? Things that you think are simple to do, like install a light socket, or repair a broken doorknob or put up bookshelves, is not so simple for others.

#6. Services For Seniors:
There are plenty of seniors out there that could use some help in getting chores done, answering mail, seasonal duties around the house, and much, much more.

#7. Personal Shopper:
Can you imagine how much fun it would be to get paid to do this? You can, as a personal shopper. Lot's of busy executives and harried single parents don't have time to shop for themselves or for others.

#8. Flowers to Go:
If you live on a street on which harried executives travel on their way home, consider growing flowers and selling them right from your front yard.

#9. Computer Tutor:
If you have a knack for working on your computer, then you might want to start a business that enables you to earn money while helping folks learn how to operate a computer.

#10. Newsletter:
You don't have to be a genius or even a great writer to start your own newsletter. Start a newsletter focusing on something you love, something you are obsessed with, and you will enjoy your business everyday.

Well, I hope somebody will benefit from one of these start ups. I'm sure who ever does will have better luck then me.

Until next time,

Meet the broke housewife

Hi my name is Nashell. I'm a wife and a mother of three beautiful children. My life is wonderful except for not having enough of that green stuff, we all call the almighty dollar. I'm tired of my family struggling everyday to survive. When a five dollar pizza hurts your budget, you know somethings wrong.

My husband and I have tried for years to make money on the Internet, with every attempt ending in failure. Our current failure that we have been working on for a year now, Google AdSense. We just sit back and hope one day will make that 30k a month mark like www.askthebuilder.com Amazing!

My jaw just drops when I read stories of people making that kind of money with AdSense. I feel like a real idiot when this guy can do it, but I can't. The question I ask myself, and have asked myself for years is WHY?

We have passion, drive, knowledge to build websites, get traffic, blah, blah, blah, but nothing seems to pan out. We just dig ourselves deeper into poverty. I know we are close, but somewhere we our missing some key factor that puts everything together in all this money making thing we just can't figure out what.

It's like watching the beginning of a movie and the end and not the middle. You have seen enough to know the actors, but not enough to know just what the hell is going on.

The question is, What is it we are missing?

I'm determined to one day find the missing key, and be a top dog myself. My main concern when it comes to money is to be able to provide a comfortable life for my children, and right now I can't do that. I'm a homemaker, and my husbands a plumber. These titles are not going to make us financially FREE.

Really my husband is the genius. He his the website designer, and always try to stay on top of current money makers. For instance Google AdSense. I basically help with design, content, and other ideas for a website. But as a team I think we have the potential to join the top dog list.

Well it is getting late, and I must sign off, but I will be back to talk a little more about myself. I'm so frustrated being poor I could scream. So maybe someone will read this and not want to give me a quarter to call someone who cares.

I know there are others out there who want to make something work on the Internet to achieve financial security. So hopefully those people will fine my blog and say yeah, I want to join the profit action to!

To your wealth,
Broke Housewife
